FAQ

QDo I have to care for the enzyme bath every single day?︿
ANot necessarily. You'll have your own health to manage, and unavoidable errands will come up. We'll teach you how to let the enzymes rest and bring them back into shape by the time you reopen. Just remember you're raising something alive — like a well-tended pickled bran bed that stays delicious, the care you put in comes back to you. We plan time off within reasonable limits.
QWhat kind of person is suited to this work?︿
AThe enzymes are a force of nature — there's no switch that simply produces heat on command. What matters is being able to understand and appreciate nature even when the bath isn't behaving, along with knowledge of fermentation, beauty, and health, attentiveness, business sense, patience, hospitality, and communication skills. No license or prior technical skill is required — anyone can start — but opening your own shop has a way of teaching you things you didn't expect. We wholeheartedly support anyone ready to change their life and take that leap.
QWhat exactly does the business support include?︿
A Here's what our business support covers. Once you become an operator, it's a long-term relationship.

Before opening: advice on financing and choosing a property / shop design advice / help with health department procedures / advice on opening costs and available subsidies
At opening: delivery of the starter enzyme material / training (entering the bath and daily care)
After opening: ongoing bran supply / advice on enzyme quality management / advice on customer service / help sourcing retail products
QDoes the bran clog the drain pipe when guests rinse it off in the shower?︿
AOur enzyme bath uses bran with the oils removed, so it won't clog the drain when rinsed off. We haven't had a single drainage issue in over 20 years, so please rest assured.
